The Japanese government has donated 100 motorcycles to Myanmar for the 27th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) and ASEAN Summit.
The Suzuki motorcycles will be used to carry out security measures and for related meetings, Police Officer Kyaw Htwe from Traffic Police Force Office said on Wednesday.
“100 motorcycles from Japan have been arrived here. We are going to buy another 150 motorcycles depending on the State’s budget. The 100 bikes donated by the Japan will be used for the security at the places where the SEA Games to be held,” said Kyaw Htwe.
The Myanmar Police Force is now recruiting the traffic officers for the SEA Games. Over 90 traffic police women, including a female sub-inspector, have been appointed to carry out the security tasks with the National Traffic Police Force.
