The government-owned Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) will open a customer care centre in Mandalay as it begins to distribute thousands of new SIM cards in May.
The customer care centre will aim to solve connection difficulties, internet issues and other problems according to the MPT’s Mandalay office. MPT is currently still the sole mobile operator in the Myanmar.
“This kind of customer care centre is going to be opened to solve the difficulties with MPT. Services will be provided in May. For example, if we are contacted that there is difficulty in using internet connection, we would immediately go and provide service,” said Saw Htoo Thar, manager for MPT’s Mandalay office.
MPT plans to provide over 200,000 GSM SIM cards in Mandalay and over 165,000 for Mandalay Region.
