The 85-acre-wide Danyinkone Marketplace in Insein Township will be upgraded to a wholesale centre for flowers, fruits and vegetables. Bidding for the project has been opened.
The Yangon Regional Government oversees the tender, and the project is slated to be implemented through a public-private partnership. The Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC) will provide the land, and the tender-winning company will provide capital investment and conduct technical operations.
The marketplace includes 65 acres of YCDC land, and the rest has been transferred from Industry Ministry.
Public companies can apply for bidding with a proposal for an investment amount and a profit ratio.
Clean financial accounts for the last three years and efficient capital are qualifications for bidding companies.
The marketplace will accommodate parking lots, the administration office, and aspace for unloading trucks, grocery stalls, water tanks, and other necessary infrastructure.
