Samsung Launches Official Online Store in Myanmar

South Korean electronics giant Samsung has entered into a partnership with to become its official online retailer.

With this partnership Samsung will have a dedicated “webstore” on, an online retail website which was launched in 2014 and is backed by Rocket Internet and part of the Asia Pacific Internet Group (APACIG).

Stefan Braun, managing director,, said, “We are dedicated towards offering our customers a wide product-suite and our agreement with Samsung is a further testament of this promise.”

The Samsung Galaxy series of smartphones and tablets are one of most popular in terms of sales volume in the world and have a large fan following in Myanmar. The firms said this collaboration will enable online shoppers to browse through the full range of Samsung Galaxy smartphones, tablets, TVs, digital appliances and select the products according to their needs. After confirming the order, the product will be delivered to the consumer’s doorstep. All products come with an official 12-month warranty. said it will start the pre-booking of the Samsung’s newest release S6 and S6 Edge for all its customers, making it the first e-commerce company to pre-book the latest Samsung Galaxy S6 phones in Myanmar.

Both the companies said they are looking to tap the potential of e-commerce and smart-phones in Myanmar.

Samsung’s Head of Marketing, Richard See said, “Samsung is striving to harness the vast potential of e-commerce in Myanmar, which is growing at a steady pace with increasing number of internet users in the country.

“The e-commerce phenomenon has transformed the model of retailing business around the globe. We want to offer consumers the online purchase experience as well as developing an online commerce presence [here].”
