Myanmar Carlsberg Ltd., a joint venture between Carlsberg and MGS Beverages, is importing equipment to open a beer factory in Bago.
Materials have arrived at Thilawar port and are being transported to the industrial project zone in Bago.
“We are bringing the things needed for the business. These are imported from Germany,” said Lu Min, an official of Myanmar Carlsberg limited.
Up to 28 cars were needed to transport the heavy-duty industrial equipment that was imported from Germany.
Carlsberg Group is the world’s fourth-largest brewery group and will own 51 percent of the newly formed Myanmar Carlsberg company.
Carlsberg was granted permission by the Myanmar Investment Commission in February last year and plans to brew and market beer in Myanmar under its world-renowned label.
