Myanmar Airways International (MAI), the country’s flag carrier, has started charter flight services to South Korea, making it the maiden charter flight service offered by the state-run airline, it announced.
The charter flight, which will fly between South Korea’s Busan (Gimhae International Airport) and Yangon International Airport, was launched on February 21, Daw Aye Mra Tha, information officer of MAI, said.
MAI already provides scheduled flight services to South Korea through code-sharing arrangements struck last year with Korean Air and Asiana Airlines.
MAI flies to international routes including Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Gaungzhou, Seim Reap, Phnom Penh and Gaya by Airbus A320 (180 passengers) and Airbus A319 (120 passengers).
The airline also offers domestic chartered flight services.
