Huawei Gives Technology Training to Myanmar Government Officials

HUAWEI Technologies has donated a Huawei IP Networking Lab, which provides for eight IP technology training programmes and training hardware and software programmes for use by government officials and service staff in Myanmar.

The package also includes teacher training programmes for six teachers. The lab was handed over at the Central Institute of Transport and Communications Meiktila on December 27.

The project comes under the Huawei “ICT talent development” programme.

U Chit Min Oo, principal of CITC, said: “CITC is one of the 18 departments under the MOTC and it is a training centre where service personal from these department are trained in order develop their capacities.

“Huawei Technologies is donating training aids such as laptops, computers, tables, chairs, air conditioner and projectors to CITC .Therefore, we can teach more effectively. Moreover, two master trainers from Huawei have trained six instructors from CITC to conduct IP-networking training course by using these training aids. On Behalf of MOTC and CITC, we feel very proud and appreciate Huawei for donating training aids to CITC and conducting IP Networking course. ”

Bob Zhu, deputy managing director of Huawei Myanmar: said. “Huawei is committed to make more contributions to Myanmar society and building a better connected Myanmar by ICT knowledge transfers.

“Meiktila Central Institute of Transportation and Communication has grown to become one of the premier institution in Myanmar to provide communication and information technology practical courses to the service staff from the Departments and Corporations under the Ministry of Transport and Communications to improve their skillset in both short term and long term which are align with the Myanmar ICT Industry Talent development objectives. So, we are very glad to support in establishing the development system for the IP Networking talents and makes the long-term capability in local to generate Meiktila Central Institute of Transportation and Communication own ICT talent to support Myanmar national ICT industry and supply international ICT talents.

“As if ICT industry developed very quickly, Myanmar is facing lack of ICT talent. Huawei’s flagship CSR program “ICT Talent development” keeps the focus on supporting Myanmar to cultivate ICT talent by different ways since 2014.”
