Mangosteen PR, Dugro, Myanmar Times launch Myanmar’s first-ever moving photo release

The growing up milk brand, and Myanmar Times combined to launch the country’s first app-assisted photo release published in The Myanmar Times Daily on November 20, 2018.

The video-photo release, a hybrid-media platform reminiscent of newspapers seen in Harry Potter movies, uses the iSmart Photo app—an online application that utilizes coding technology to identify a particular picture and links it to a pre-uploaded audio visual material.

Mangosteen PR, the public relations brand of Mango Media Group Company Limited and one of Myanmar’s leading public relations agencies, led the completion of the project; securing Dugro’s agreement to link their market activation video to the photo release to entice the public to experience the Dugro ‘So Much More Stories’ mall activities.

“We are both proud and excited to have brought this PR and media innovation to the Myanmar market. For us, we have a hybrid-channel that integrates traditional and digital media; and at the same time a technological innovation that could support a more robust messaging for our clients. We hope that with this novel idea, we will be able to help bridge Myanmar’s traditional media with the country’s digital transformation,” said Paul Gongora, Mangosteen PR General Manager.

Danone Dumex Marketing Head (Indochina), Anirban Basu, said, “This is a very creative way for a leading brand like Dugro to bring a truly immersive experience to our consumers. We are proud to have done ‘Myanmar’s First’ with this and will continue to bring innovative ways to engage with our consumers in the future.”

Myanmar Times Daily, one of the leading publications of Myanmar Consolidated Media Limited, participated to host the photo release.

“Myanmar Consolidated Media always tries to excite the market with new product and service innovations for its readers and advertising clients. And we are very proud to have published Myanmar’s first moving photo release. It will be interesting how our news and public affairs photos would look hereafter; and how marketers and advertisers in Myanmar would be able to utilize and maximize this hybrid-media platform for more creative and impactful campaigns, such as the Dugro photo release,” Blair Marquez, Myanmar Consolidated Media Ltd. Director for Sales, Marketing, Distribution and Circulation.

With the application, the public may now be able to view actual video footages of news articles and other digital video renditions. Myanmar Consolidated Media is now the exclusive reseller of iSmart Photo services in Myanmar. The technology has capabilities to link any printed material on any solid surface to a pre-uploaded audio visual material.

Gongora stated, “Myanmar is at the beginning of its digital transformation. This is one of our ways to help fuel its leapfrogging journey, with advancements in the public relations and advertising sector. This is also our way to help the media community that has always supported us in communicating our messages to the Myanmar audience.”
