MAI to substitute currently-running planes with new Air-buses

The Myanmar Airways International (MAI) will substitute its currently-running planes with new Air-buses bought recently when they arrive in Myanmar, said Tanes Kumar, Commercial Director of the MAI.

The MAI bought two new Air-buses in order to extend its flight services and the first one will arrive in Myanmar in September and another in October.

The MAI is providing flight services from Yangon to Bangkok, Singapore and Guangzhou and Kolkata and it is run by three A 319 planes. In addition to these planes, two new planes have been bought and one of them will arrive in Myanmar on September 5 and the other in October.

“The MAI has a plan to purchase three to four Air-buses. So far we have bought two Air-buses. The first Air-bus A 320 will arrive in Myanmar in September and another A 319 in October. If we get flight permission from Department of Civil Aviation (Myanmar), the new arrivals will be used in MAI flight routes. Therefore, new plane of A 320 will begin running on flight routes during September and the new plane of A 319 during October. The newly arrivals will be used in the place of one to two existing planes. The MAI has planned to provide flight services with the use of at least 6 planes,” said Tanes Kumar.

The MAI is providing international flight services with the use of three Air-buses at present.
The MAI based in Yangon International Airport and Mandalay International Airport is providing regular flight services to Bangkok, Singapore, Guangzhou, Gaya and Kolkata and also giving charter flight services to China.
