Myantrade setting up world-class business support to local entrepreneurs Nay Pyi Daw, Myanmar

The Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization Myantrade has set a milestone in the history of business support in the country. On 22-24, September 2020, more than 40 government officials from Myantrade headquarters and regional trade centres as well as commercial trade attachés from 15 countries were trained on advanced trade information service and management techniques. This training is part of a larger initiative aims to upgrade the availability and accuracy of business, market and trade information available to local small and medium-sized enterprises that want to reach foreign markets.

The tailor-made coaching session gave Myantrade’s trade information officers hands-on experience on how to analyse trade and market information resources. By providing reliable and timely trade information, the officers can now better assist their small businesses to become competitive in global markets using up-to-date market intelligence. Officers were also trained on a new enquiry management and chat system to enable local and foreign entrepreneurs to reach out and chat directly with sector experts at Myantrade. During the current COVID-19 crisis, exporters can get information safely online.

“Embracing these new tools and methodologies can utterly improve our capacity to provide modern and effective information services to everyone interested in trading from and with Myanmar,” says Director General Naw Mutakawpaw.
