If you want to setup a branch office of a foreign company in Myanmar you can do so under the Myanmar Companies Act.
A branch office is normally setup for collecting information or to act as a liaison for the head office. For example many banks, telecom and oil companies have branch offices in Myanmar – these branch offices act as a listening post for the head office with regard to major government tenders that are opened to foreign investors.
To setup a branch office all you need is a minimum capital of USD 50,000 and a minimum of 2 shareholders – the shareholder can be another company.
There are tax implications in setting up a branch office without FIL.
